I am exactly one month post op today. Finally feeling better, thank goodness! I have lost 32 lbs. which is very exciting! I get hungry A LOT, I can eat a meal and 30 mins. later I am hungry again. I also feel like I should get full quicker at meal time. I stop because I know I should but I could continue to eat. Is it possible that I could have already stretched my new stomach?

My single mother was just diagnosed with breast cancer and I have never felt so completely lost. I have already lost my father before the age of 17 and I don't think I could bare to lose another parent. Ever since the news I have been eating super unhealthy in an attempt to make myself feel better, and I know that is not the way to go about the situation. I am afraid I messed up my surgery as I can eat pretty decent amounts of food at times. Anybody else a year post-op notice that their…

Well my initial excitement over the prospect of having the MGB procedure has diminished some as result of a frustrating delay. The Dr I got a referral for a psych eval from seems to be quite busy and is unable to work me in until the end of May. Hard to imagine they are that busy that nothing sooner could be arranged. My PCP was also trying to delay some of the initial testing Dr. P requires in his documentation for eligibility for the MGB procedure until after the psych eval. I was able…

My one year passed on the 24th, it is unbelievable. I have lost a total of about 88 lbs! I am thrilled. I have some more weight to lose but when I think back to myself a year ago in the hospital, I remember trying to picture myself a year post-op, and never did I imagine would my body look this good. I have never been so happy!

I have not been on this site for a few years so I'll summarize my situation. I had the MGB in 2008 and lost around 90 lbs. reaching my goal weight of 140. I maintained my weight for a while but slowly started gaining again. I have gained almost 40 lbs. over the past couple years due primarily getting back into old habits of eating sweets and fast foods again. I have discovered I can eat a lot more than I could following my surgery, as well.
I know that changing my eating habits and…
