Mini-Gastric Bypass

Las Vegas, Nevada & Orlando Florida, Get The Mini-Gastric Bypass for Life!!

Hello!

I'm just over one month post-op. I have had this not-quite-painful growling that I can't seem to get rid of. It can happen anywhere from just behind my tongue to the pit of my stomach. It was off and on until a day ago, and now it's nearly constant! It happens with anything I eat or drink, even water, and it's so loud people standing outside my office door can hear it.

Has anyone else had this? Any suggestions for what might help? None of the meds seem to make any difference. It's driving me literally to distraction, and this is the worst possible time of year for me at work and I NEED to be able to concentrate!

Many thanks for any help!

Betsy

my stomach growled to for a while..and it feels like it was the stomach that is not part of the system anymore...but mine squeaked and squawked too. Funny I can't remember when it stopped..probably about 3 months out...I started to use the citrucel chews (chocolate and caramel) for fiber and it slowed down my bowels pretty good for me. Plus at 3 months I stopped the actigal and pepto. everything seemed to normalize except I still had pain with different foods,That stopped at about 7 months out...
Try not to eat anything that would cause gas for you...but that being said dairy products did it bad to me even the yogert so I did not eat yogurt too much at all just in the very beginning but I did take probiotic pills for a few months instead and if I did have milk it was the acidopholis kind....As long as it doesn't hurt I think it is normal, hang in there it should subside...

I get a funny gurgling every once in a while, it sort of sounds like its coming from my throat. I will get it sometimes if I swallow air with my water at the gym. If you have been using a straw to slow down your sipping, you might want to ditch the straw. The noise can be embarrassing, but it eventually subsides.

Hi Betsy

Dr R recommends prilosec for acid reflux. Sounds like it may be acid reflux.

I had all kinds of noises for a couple few months after surgery and it all went away. I had painful hiccups too-went away.
Dont worry-I was! But all is good. I am almost 5 months out and all of those noises are gone unless I eat badly.

Thanks for the reassurance! I'll just have to be patient. And only eat one ounce at a time!
