I'm posting to let everyone know that I am doing well. This has been the hardest day. Just feeling overall groggy and tired. I have been sipping lots of VERY salty broth, and some Gatorade. I've been doing well with the saltines, amazingly well!

My experience in the hospital was great. Everyone was wonderful. I fell asleep the second I 'hopped' onto the operation table, and woke up when I got to my room. Every one says I talked in the recovery room, but I don't remember. I felt no pain while at the hospital.

I must admit (even at risk of showing my wimpy side) that when I took my first sip I broke out into tears. Because of the removal of the lap-bad, for the first time in over FOUR years I ingested something WITHOUT PAIN. It was finally over! I knew at that moment that the misery of drinking or eating with pain would be no more! Who wouldn't cry?

My ride home made me a little nauseous, but I was really glad to be back in my own bed. I had an hour of discomfort in the middle of the night. My elbow, hand and wrist joints hurt really badly. Not sure why, maybe the last bit of gas from the surgery, but I had no shoulder pain. I also placed my hand on my shoulder and it was cold, and when I placed my hand on my elbow and wrist it was hot!

I woke up this morning with still a little of that pain, but not bad at all, now itÕs all but gone. My abdomen area is 'uncomfortable', but no pain.

I worry about ingesting too much and not letting my stomach heal properly.

I have the lap band, and you should surely check out all you options before you
do anything and so with that in mind, I do need to tell you that it did not work
for me and I do know that the stats on it are not correct. None of the people
that I had it with I do not believe are walking around glad and with great
results.
Problem is, after a while (I have had it six years) all you can get in are
cookies, ice cream, dips and chips. If I try to eat healthy, fruits or
vegetables, then it comes right back up. Even one bite. So, after a while you
get head hunger and just eat whatever will go down. I never get to eat meat.
So, the GOOD thing is, its reversible and I am having Dr. R take it out for

Happy Anniversary to me and all my littermates Marianne, Bryan, Rod and

Let me say 1st and foremost THANK YOU DR. R for your committment and
dedication to helping the morbidly obese, you truly are a gift from god and my
HERO!!!!!!!

Last year on this day I was 281lbs at 5'2" and had NO life. I could not
even walk around Vegas with my family because everything hurt. My ankles,
knees, back, feet, etc.... I was flirting with diabetes, high blood pressure
and
depression. I had sleep apnea, and never wanted to leave my home due to my
weight.

WOW fast forward to today, what a life I have now. I have tears in my eyes
as I write this email. I am a HEALTHY 144lbs and wearing a size 4/6 from a
size 28. I am a better mom, wife, friend, confidant and again mom. I can do
soooooooooo much with my 6 year old son. I shaparoned yesterday at the zoo
with his Kindergarten class and I was not even tired at the end of the day.
Unbelievable!!!! I want to scream it from the roof tops MGB has been my miracle
and it could help you too!!!!!

I have not only changed in size I have changed in so many other ways. I am
taking my Fitness Instructor Exam June 10th 2007. I want to teach aerobics.
I have wanted to do this since I was 20 years old, ( I am 36 now) I get paid
to exercise, get a FREE gym membership for me and my hubby and I build self
esteem and confidence that had been NON existence in my life for many years.
WOW I am amazed at how much I have changed.

Much love and happiness to all my littermates, and I am here for all the
newbies any questions just ask.
