you look great Donna...I wish I had a reason to dress up like that...I just bought a little black dress at Sal-Val (salvation army) for 3.99 just in case...it is so cute but no place to go..maybe I will have a party like that too...good idea
I have an annual Christmas Cocktail Party for Women only. I recently had back surgery and in this photo I have a back brace on under this beautiful dress.
I am NINE years post-op and doing great!
Thanks for sharing your pics

I just sent you a friend message but only allowed 200 words...didn't know I had that much to say... LOL Anyway, you look amazing! (the message didn't allow me to say that, had to change amazing to great.) I am scheduled in Florida in one week. OH MY GOODNESS!!! You are so beautiful in the photos. I want to know everything you can share with me. I appreciate it.
Sincerely, Sheba
Donna, you look great, Thanks for sharing your story. I love the pictures you have a sunshine smile that lights up the room and I love the Black dress picture. I hope to be a postop real soon thats all I can think about and dream about. What a wonderful option and opportunity to have such a life changing surgery. I'm still trying to work on getting the finances somehow to have the surgery. Just a few questions, what is it like to go from larger sizes to smaller sizes emotionally and when you look in the mirror and how did people react to you wanting the surgery and how do they treat you now? When yo eat do you have to mentally prepare yourself before hand and do you ever feel hungry or when you sit down to eat do you have to think about how you chew I would assume so more slowly right and do have to always focus on smaller portion sizes when preparing food and when you eat does it feel different than before you had the surgery? When you have liquids do you wait and have them afterward? Sorry for all the questions.Hope to hear from you soon.
Donna...2+ years ago you were one of my 10 contacts for my MGB journey. Thank you...you as well look wonderful and happy to hear you feel that way too. Amazing what life once took for me and the freedom I'm enjoying now. Good hearing from you again. Thanks again for sharing!
How much of one? It was the Mini-Gastric bypass by Dr Rutledge. They bypassed the 1st 6 feet of the intestine and stapled off a long narrow pouch of a stomach - would hold 4-6 ounces.
Being self employed, I have always had terrible health insurance so I am always getting into medical research studies. That way I get free mammogram, pap smears, meds, lab work, etc for free.
Even though I don't always eat balanced meals, all my lab work looks great. No vitamin deficiencies, no high cholestroral, no high blood sugar.
On the food choices, after the surgery, greasy stuff just tasted greasy. I still love sweets, though. I love bread. But it was not a conscience choice to eat healthier....it just tasted better. I don't cook much anymore because I'd end up with so many leftovers and I live alone.
