First Name:
Gina aka Mizz Gina, Mizz Gypsy, Italiana Gypsy
About Me:
My name is Gina, I am 26 and a Virgo, I live in PA with my mom and stepdad and dog Mister (who I treat like my son). I am VERY close with my family. I am single with no kids, but hopefully some day I will have some. I work as a web designer and have for about 2 years, I love my job it is my passion. I have 4 tattoos, 5 piercings, I love all kinds of music but prefer rock or hip-hop.

I was overweight ALL my life. Ever since I can remember, I was always the "pretty chubby girl". I had this surgery because I realized that at 25 (age I had my surgery), with high blood pressure, I was not getting all I want out of life. My weight has always held me back, well no more!! I will take you all on my journey with me!

Happy Thanksgiving to my MGB Family :)

I hope you all have a great thanksgiving with your family and loved ones.

These are my plans:

My sister Nicole, my cousin Tommy & I are going to my father's parents for dinner as usual. She is seriously the best cook, no lie. We are Italian so sometimes she doesn't even make a turkey, but that's ok, just as long as she makes that famous soup of hers.

Then we will go back to my mother's and eat there, my mom's dinner is always later in the evening.

This will be my first Thanksgiving after… Continue

My Surgery!

It has officially happened, I am on the other side, woo hoo!!! There were many times when I thought I would chicken out, or something unforeseen would happen and somehow this surgery wouldn't happen. But it did. And having it behind me now feels so good I can't even tell you. As you all know the packet takes hard work, so after doing all of that, I am finally done! No more waiting for approval, getting all my info. ready, wondering what it will feel like, waiting to meet everyone, etc.

My surge… Continue

Thanks for the cheer and support Gina. I'm quite happy with the pace of my loss so far. I've begun to tolerate some grains, so have been enjoying adding them back a little bit. Wouldn't be surprised if my body takes a little rest before long, well maybe not, who knows, will just see what happens. I'm in the range that I spent the majority of my 30' and 40's, so it makes sense that 250 lbs is sort of a comfortable set point that it might want to hang onto for a bit. At least I have lots of clothes that fit right now. Ten more lbs and I will no longer have a morbid BMI and that's when I hope to take a couple updated photos and post a progress blog. The larger portion of my loss has come off of my front side, it's come off everywhere, but a lot of my huge protruding belly and boobs have smoothed down. I can bend over with much more ease now and tie my shoes. It is wonderful to feel so much better.

Your new photos really show your loss, even though those that are closest to you may not have noticed. I've even noticed about myself, that with people I see almost every day, I just don't pay attention to what they really look like. When I look at them, I'm looking into their eyes and heart and what's on their outside is irrelevant to me. Seeing them regularly, the changes are in small increments and it's easy to not realize how much they have changed until it is specifically brought to my attention. In the case of weight loss, it didn't matter to me how big they might have been, so I'm not inclined to pay attention to any changes in their size. I've just never paid attention to that kind of thing. Remember that this is your journey and what others may or may not think or say doesn't need to matter. Having said that, it is nice to be acknowledged for the results of your decisions to improve your health. You are doing great and deserve to be proud of your accomplishments.
