I made homemade lemonade and put elet drops in them and the citrucel. But the citrucel didn't help stop the runs..only when I got the citrucel choc and caramel soft chews does it stop. Even now if I run out it turns back into a very loose stool...
that's great news! You will do a lot of changing over the next 3 months or so. Don't think that this is how you will be forever. My stomach felt different almost every week but lately is starting to feel more normal. You will learn to eat different because stuff makes you sick or you over eat until you learn it hurts so many times...let us know how it is going!

Hi Thanks for the message. I never check this thing....so -sory for the delay.
To answer you question about how long did I feel like I was a prisoner in a fat girls body....well....I don't know if I've mentally moved on from that place yet. I mean, I feel a lot better and I look better but my body is not firm like it was many years ago....which still makes me feel fate at times (even when I put on size 12's as opposed to 24/26's). BUT - I feel better and I'm healthier....
Best wishes for a speedy recovery and remember: sip sip sip...salt salt salt...rest rest rest.
Paula, sorry for the delay in responding. I do recommend this procedure. It is a great tool if you use it to change your life. Life is so much more full for me now. Feel free to ask me anything.
I knew 2 people that had the mgb and I lost my Mom and sister at young ages. My Mom was 63 and my sister was 55. I was with my sister when she passed and decided that I was gonna do something before I had a heart attack or stoke and didnt' have a choice. I got a second job and worked a year to pay for my surgery. I researched and went to two seminars and was sure it was for me by the time I had my surgery. I am 1 yr out and have lost 127 lbs. I weigh 225 now. I walk, ride a bike, camp, live life now. I am hoping to lose at least another 75 lbs. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself and my husband compliments me all the time. Actually so does everyone else. My Dad is very happy and tells me quite often. I was born a chunk and hopefully this will be something I won't have to deal with in my old age because I have done my time. I want to enjoy living. I don't have feet that kill me, knees that kill me or a back that hurts so I am very happy with that. Take care Carol Ware
Hi Martha,
As of this morning I weigh 145lbs, so I've lost 111 lbs in 8 months. I've had no real problems to speak of and if I had to do it all over again, I would! I have a blog that has many of my thoughts and experiences with mgb. You can view it at www.suzioshrinks.blogspot.com
If you have other questions, let me know. This has been a Godsend to me!
Everyone finishes in their own good time. I had started my packet in October of 2006, didn't touch it during the holidays, then after the new year, finished it up. I took my time, because I wanted to do a really good job on it, and I wanted to learn as much as I could. I was like a human sponge, reading all the posts on the board, and reading all the material I could. You'll be there when you're ready, and before you know it, you'll be one year post op, and feeling and looking SO much better.
Hi Martha
I started at 333lbs, the day of my surgery I weighed 327 that was on July 16, 2007. I now weigh 225. What a thrill it is to have lost this much weight even though I still have 75lbs to lose. It's been a learning experience this entire journey, I get nauseous with some foods and only one time I have vomited and it was all my doing. Had to try the new cherry flavored M&M's, well I don't want another M&M for the rest of my life!! LOL Other than those handful of times, I have felt great!! And feeling better all the time, I joined Lifestyles Fitness Center yesterday, something I never thought I would have enough energy to even consider. I have been battling my obesity since my early 20's, I am 47. I'm excited for what life brings now. Good luck with your journey. Please ask me if you have any other questions!!
Hi Martha,
My starting weight was 350 pounds. I'm down to 208. It's so neat to be down so much. I went shopping the other day, and I bought one shirt, size 18/20, and another shirt, size 14/16. I was so thrilled. I haven't weighed this amount since I was pregnant with my first son, about 19 years ago.
How are you doing? Are getting close?

Hello My name is Martha. I am tuning 40 years old this April and I am planning on having my MGB by the beginnings of May. I have been hapilly married for 24 years. I have a 20 year old daughter who has a 1 year old baby. i have struggled with my wieght ever since I had my daughter. I sometimes feel embarrased to go out with my husband because I am so over weight. I don't accompany my husband to any co-works parties of social events becuase i do not feel comfortable with myself. Now that my daught has her baby and is going down the same path that I went I have decided to use the MGB as my now last alternative so that i may encourage her to lose weight (by herself not with a mgb) and so i may do can have the opurtunity to do things with my grandson that i was not able to do with my daugther.
