- Hi Rose, thanks so much for your concern. I already know I will need a revision to a shorter bypass, unless by some miracle I stop loosing weight suddenly. Considering all of my excess skin, I really should not be any thinner than I already am. Fortunately my labs are good other than a little low iron, and that I can be thankful for. I tried looking up some of Suzanne's older posts, but did not find anything really useful for myself. I have been eating almost constantly, even stopped in the middle of a massage because I had to eat 3 oz of protein and 1/2 cup of risotto. This kind of eating feels bizarre and crazy, and makes me so bloated and full, it is completely unpleasant and my stomach is hard and bloaty all the time. Even with this I am still loosing, and what scares me the most is that this is the time of the month I usually gain. I almost think the constant eating is having the opposite effect because it is revving up my metabolism, that is the only way I can think to explain it. Because of OHIP's change in policy they are making me see a surgeon here first, and they will have to make the recommendation to OHIP. I will be coming back to Canada the first week of the new year to have that appointment, so I had to cancel 3 weeks in January in Florida with my grandparents, a weekend in New York with my parents, and my trip out west in February where I was supposed to visit my friends in Tucson for 2 weeks, then the YT M&G in Vegas that I have been looking forward to for MONTHS! It really super sucks. Unfortunately it is not something I can ignore. My mother still thinks things will magically stop, and is afraid any surgery will "undo all of the months of progress". That being said, she has not seen me yet, and I can tell you, the pictures and video do not really show how skinny I actually look. :(

Betty Smith said… - Hi Rose and thank you for the compliments as well. ONE of these days I will find the picture I am looking for and send it to you.....you will see what I mean. I ran into some old friends today and when I walked into their office THEY DID NOT KNOW ME...... i thought that was so funny because I forget that I have changed on the outside......I met my 100 pound mark on Thanksgiving Day. What a remarkable feeling that was. I am sure you could hear me screaming with JOY ALL THE WAY to your state from here in Colorado. I am going to my first Xmas party tomorrow and looking forward to wearing nice pretty things for a change. I use to not attend as I was so fat.....which only make me eat more. Remember those days? NO more of them ever for us. We are so blessed huh?
Just got back from a cruise which I would never do when I was 272 pounds either. Now It felt good and I would go again in a heartbeat. Life is so good now days. I remember last year at this time I was getting ready for surgery in January and reading about all the people like yourself who had it done and your success. I sat her thinking and wondering if I would EVER say I have lost 100 pounds. Thank God that day is here now. Have your weight started slowing down now?
