Try the gasx... it is worth it. And honestly... not everything is an emergency or related to the MGB. Have you been exercising in a new way lately? Eating anything with more frequency? I know for me that when I change up my fitness routine or eat ...

Thanks you guys! I'll let you know what I find out.

If your PCP doesn't know ask him what he's going to do to find out! Remember the pain after surgery is not gas, it just feels like gas pain because that's the interpretation of those less delveloped nerves in your abdomen. The gurgling is curiou...

It does feel exactly the same as after surgery. It feels like a huge air bubble right under my left ribs, it feels like it is expanding but doesn't have room to expand and if I push on it it gurgles. It especially hurts when I inhale. The pain in ...

I guess I need to make an appointment. It is so easy to think that everything is related to the MGB. I don't know why that is. I guess mostly I think it might be related because it is on the left side (that's where our new stomach pouch is right?)...

Hi Sonya, Does it feel the exact same way as the surgery pain..I had also after c-sections and the MGB, but I have been having shoulder pain right in the join and I felt like john McCain, I couldn't lift my arm for a while so I have been working i...

I've not experienced it, but if it's happening with regularity, I'd get in to see my PCP pretty quickly. THere's so many things it could be, possibly not even related to the MGB. Do you have any heart issues?

1 Year post op!!! and a word of caution.

Ok so I'm a few days late. My one year was June 4th and life is GOOD. I started out at 225lbs and a tight size 20. I am now 137lbs and a snug size 6! It feels so amazing to be carrying around 88 less pounds. My husband says he loves my new body and my new confidence but more than that he loves that I'm not complaining about hurting all the time. I used to hurt everywhere all the time, my head, my back, my knees, and hips and I was only 34! Now I very rarely have a headache and every once in a wh… Continue

6 months out!!!

Today is my 6 month anniversary and everything is going great! I have lost 72 lbs, I was hoping to be at 150 by 6 months but 153 is pretty darn close. I am wearing a size 9/10 but I was able to fit into a size 8 the other day at the store. It was a little snug, but I'll be in it soon. I never dreamed I would be able to wear a size 8. I can't even remember the last time I wore a size 8, probably in 7th grade. It's simply amazing!!! I feel great, I walk faster everywhere I go. I find myself actual… Continue

Weird weight loss

Ok, so I have had a very weird experience twice now. I was sugar free for the first three months after surgery and I have been really good for the last three months about keeping sweets to a very bare minimum, only having a small something maybe once a week. My weight loss has been about 2 lbs a week for a long time (which is fine). At Halloween I went a little crazy with the kids candy laying all over the house. I lost my self control that week and was eating probably 4-5 pieces of candy a day.… Continue

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I found out some horrible news. My husband is finishing his Masters degree in December and since we have our health insurance through the school we now have to get new insurance. We had an insurance guy over to talk to us about our options and when he found out that I had the MGB he told me that I am uninsurable. Now I have to get my health insurance through the State's program for uninsurable people which is very expensive because it's for people who have major health issues. HELLO! Because I h… Continue

Exactly, that's the major gotcha. Mine is a 5k deductible too. Oh well, at least it's something. :(

Love your pic- you look great!

Insurance is such a rip off! I even had trouble getting life insurance, they said because of a "recent surgery". Right now my medical insurance is costing about $7k a year. Makes me wonder if I'd be better off uninsured, but I have 10 yrs to go before madicare! And one Kidney stone can cost $5-6k. Can't win either way! Guess I'll just have to get rich so it doesn't matter! :-)

Hey I just saw you updated your profile... when did you hit your goal? You had surgery just a few days after I did. I hit my goal at 11 months, 4 days.

I was wondering how you made out with the insurance. I want to switch insurance companies but am scared of getting switched, then getting cancelled.

Hope all is going well!

Sonya, I couldn't believe it when I logged on and saw your new picture! You look so beautiful!

How is the exercising going? What kinds of things does the trainer have you do? I am so proud of you!

I see you started a discussion about daily food intake. Great idea! I'll try to respond soon. I'm sorry I didn't get back to you when you asked.

Anyway, happy anniversary, late. We're going to have to plan a reunion!!

Todd says hi back to you and Matt, too.

Hi Sonya,
I'm feeling great about the surgery....can't wait.......got my approval to-day!
I'm glad that your food issues seem to be settling down, weird how some things taste great one minute and not the next....guess I'll find out soon enough.
Take care,
trish
