Trish's Journey

Profile Information

Hometown:
Hendersonville, NC
First Name:
Tricia
About Me:
I am 30 years old, single, and ready for this journey! I currently am 5'8 and weigh about 365lbs. My Surgery is scheduled in May with Dr. P. I have been overweight all my life and am looking forward to spending the next 30 years hopefully with normal weight, easier flexibilty, less joint pain, and actually just as healthy as my first thirty years have been. I realize that if I don't get control of my weight now then I will have more then some low back pain and PCOS to worry about. I wish all of you God's blessings as you begin this road for the MGB and look forward to years to come!
Update: I am now 31yrs old and have had a successful 2nd attempt at the MGB procedure completed by Dr. Peragle on September 19th. I am now 327.8 lbs day of surgery and look forward to watching the weight 'drop' off and my new journey in life begin!

1 YEAR

Hi to all my friends!
This time last year I was laying in a hospital bed. Hadn't had anything to eat all day and was looking at a popcycle thinking where are you going to go??? LOL. At that time 328 lbs! Today I weighed in for my official 12 months since surgery and I am at 217.2 lbs! I have lost a total of 110.6 since surgery September 19, 2008 and have lost 161.6 since beginning this journey March 2008. I have gone from a size 34, 5x to 18, 1x-xl in most clothes. I feel so blessed that God has… Continue

10 Month Update

Hi all my friends!
Just got home from Florida this week - I went and attended the 'MGB 2' and got to visit with my favorite physician - Dr. P. All went well and Saturday was great-getting to be back with some of my friends who have had the surgery and listening to all the great conversations and meetings (Definitely not wanting skin surgery now.....but anyway!)

Stayed with another MGB'r the whole trip and enjoyed it very much! Visited with Dr. P on Monday following retreat. Using his scales evi… Continue

8 Months Post Op

Happy Memorial Day my friends!
Who knew that when I made a decision about 14 months ago to begin this journey I would actually have picked a weight loss tool that would really work for me. I have lost 140 lbs and have found so much more! This past year has been one of ups and downs; frustrations and blessings; a journey that I have grown so much from. I decided when I turned 30 that I would make the most of that year and make it 'my' year. As such my research began and while it took my 31st birt… Continue

thanks for getting back to me, i am kind of bummed to say that I am about 3 1/2 months out and haven't started to work out yet, I just feel tired and don't have the extra energy, I never really had energy even before the surgery, my mom keeps getting on me to start exercising more so i wont have lose/saggy skin, but my arms already sag and they pretty much look the same now as before surgery, plus I am not opposed to plastic surgery, a arm lift and tummy tuck is what i think i will need, but i still am going to work out, i just have to get motivated, I HATE working out lol

Trish, how ru doing? I can't believe it's almost July. Will you be going to MGBU2 on July 24th? I get my 3 month check up on Thursday. I am feeling 'drained' so I would guess my iron/vit D is low. I am taking B12 and iron pills...hope it makes me feel better. I can eat almost anything. Chicken does get stuck in my throat!!!??? It is still hard to get all those vit and min down every day. but I know we have to do it.
Take care...dusty
