Sonya's surgery

Just a quick update on Sonya. Jeff gave me a call while we were at our MGB Support Meeting. Said she is fine except she does have gas pain in her chest. I told him to be sure to tell them if she needs pain meds. It was so nice of him to call and we are glad our friend is on the other side. Carol Ware

Chiropractor ( Back Adjustment)

Hello All, I went to get a adjustment yesterday and my doctor was surprised. I can tell you that is one of the moments to remember. I remember going at 350 pounds and laying on that little table. Wow there is alot more room on that table now !!! It was so much better for me and HIM I am sure. I figured it would be good to do since my body has adjusted from not carrying such a big load. Well, he got to my neck and you should have heard all the noise. He said I bet you have been having head aches… Continue

Hi Carmen: My name is Carol I am 64 years old and I have had a weight problems for most of my life, my mother and two of my daughters also have problems with weight. I am an R.N. that works in the Intensive care unit and it is getting harder and harder for me to do the things that I have to do to care for my patient. I hope this is the type of information that you needed. As with Donna I was not able to find the contact list, new to this BLOG thing too. My email address is ca2peters@cox.net. Thanks Carol

Hi Carmen,
My name is Donna Hawkins. I'm looking for contacts for my packet. Sandy at the clinic told me that there was some sort of contact list, but I have not been able to find it, so I thought I would just pick some members out and try it that way. If you are willing to help me out, I would surely appreciate it. If you decide to write me back, you can e-mail me at
aerolioness@yahoo.com
My tentative surgery date is March 11th, so I'm really trying to get this all together.
I was going to try to add an attachment here, but I'm not sure how to do that, so I'll just add the questions:
1. When did you have your MGB surgery?
2. What was your PreOp Weight?
3. What is your weight now?
4. What has been the worst thing about your MGB experience?
5. What has been the best thing your MGB experience?
6. Did you have your surgery in Nevada or Florida, and what did you think of the Dr.?
7. How would you rate the level of care that you received at the hospital?
8. How would you rate the responsiveness of the Clinic regarding pre-op questions/concerns?
9. Would you recommend this surgery to your friends or family members?
10. What is the one most important bit of advice that you would like to pass on to anyone that is getting ready to have the MGB?

If you have the time to answer the questions for me, I thank you. If you don't, I understand.

Well, I spoke to my HR dept. and the information she gave me was that the insurance would only cover weight loss surgery for someone morbidly obese (I looked up the definition for morbildly obese and it is 100 pounds or more overweight) or if a doctor wrote and said it was medically necessary. It was a bit of a setback, but, I think I may qualify anyway. I am 100 pounds overweight with a BMI of 37.5 and I have some medical problems that may make it "medically necessary". I guess my next step will be finding a local doctor and getting a physical and his support. Thanks for the encouraging words.

Have a great day,
Audrey
