I finally graduated ! Stepped over to the other side. Nov./ 4 /09 surgery date. I cannot believe that I Finally made it.
My surgery went well. I was the last to have surgery since I am a former lap-band pt. Feeling pretty weak. I am walking as much as I can to gain strength. Hello to my litter mates Stacy and Mary. Thanks Dr R and staff for everything. Renee

A resident came to my condo office (I'm an administrative assistant for a condo manager) and said, "I have a guy for you to meet. Is 48 too old? And he wants children, are you okay with that?" HELLOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I'm 56!!!!!!! He was shocked.
Well, if any of you know anyone...... LOL
Love, Sheba

This morning, I came outside to round up my kids and I saw my gardener, whom, I might add, I have not seen in about 6 weeks. I met Juan a little over two years ago, he knocked on my door and asked if I had any work for him (he is actually much more than a great gardener--he is a jack of all trades). Considering that our house had just finished construction and we had white walls and a LOT of dirt landscaping, I saw him pretty much every day for the next several months lol. He became a really goo…

HI Everyone:
22 pounds since my highest, 18 pounds since surgery date. Not like everyone else, but more than if I had not had the surgery, 18 pounds more! Maybe even 28 pounds more, as for sure I would have been 10 pounds heavier by now making me 276 at this time. Right?? But now I am 244. Can't wait to hit the 30's.
It seems I don't retain fluid as much as most. So now any weight I lose will be fat.
I am on real food. Every time I try a new food I am surprised at how well I am taking it. How…

I AM NEW....I AM JUST GETTING STARTED WITH MY PACKET. I ATTENDED A SEMINAR WITH DR. PERAGLIE SEVERAL MONTHS AGO. I BELIEVE I MET ROSE WOLFE. I TRULY ENJOYED HEARING HER STORY. AT FIRST I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY I HAD TO CONTACT WITH A MINIMUM OF TEN PREVIOUS PATIENTS. AFTER READING THE BLOGS I CAN NOW UNDERSTAND THE IMPORTANCE. IF YOU HAVE ANY "TIPS" OR CONCERNS THAT A "NEWBY" SHOULD KNOW PLEASE CONTACT ME.

hey everyone and littermates!
I saw my doctor today, she took away 6 medications and left me with 2. she is keeping me on my Metforum for my diabetes. she said my A1C went from 8.2 to 7.2 in one month. all this without meds!!!! how cool is that? she wants me to take the Metform for 3 months. she wants my AlC to get below a 6 before she takes me off it. she's hoping it'll be within 3 months. my sugar level is running a little higher than normal. but not over 180, so that's good, it's not going l…

So...I sent my packet in last Thursday. STILL no word!
Makes me scared something is wrong and I wont find out in time to fix it. My work wont let me reschedule my time off and my parents are already on their way down here to the South.
I have to have this surgery. I just got my last lab results and it looks as if I am also diabetic.
Add that to my list of tihngs that finally caught up to me.
I guess I feel a little down today...Im also scared that if I DO get approved, I will be one of the pe…

OK, so today, I went to the office for the day before paperwork and a Q&A with Dr P. I met my littermate Lisa who is a nurse at the hospital, she is lovely and just as nervous as I am which is comforting, in a way.
This past week has been a real roller coaster of a ride, but last night I seemed to reach peace with this whole thing.
I have gone from complete panic, complete with anxiety attacks to 'OK, lets get this show on road already'.
I've been getting lot's of calls from my family and f…

I am down 45.5 pounds and for the third time, i have stopped losing weight for a couple of days. So i am sure in the next couple of days it will start to fall off again. I lost 30 then it stopped for 4 days, then dropped off until i had lost 40 then it stopped for several days and i even gained a pound and a half, and now at 45 down, again i gained a pound and a half and now have lost that, so it has been 4 days, so i am sure any day now it will be going down again! At least i sure hope so!

Hi everyone: I've already made the decision to have the MGB... but my primary provider is a NP. I need an MD to support me and agree to follow me in Anchorage or surrounding area...does anyone have any leads on someone? Is anyone from Anchorage or surrounding area out there that might suggest some? Thanks! Barbara

I asked Sandy if i need to be getting blood work done on 1,3,6 months and one year. She said no, only one year, for the MGB'ers that have had diabetes, or other issues they may have to see their doctors and have blood work, but for the rest of us, we must fill out the on line report each month and then do the blood work at one year. So this is straight from the horses mouth, sorry Sandy just a figure of speech!

One month out and doing great. I am down 34 lbs. I was wearing 46 jeans. Now about half my 42's fit!! I went to the desert this past weekend and played in the sand dunes. I have a dune buggy. The seat belts were getting a little tight. This weekend i could tighten them!!!! Even with a sweater and a heavy jacket I buckeled in fine. I feel sooo much lighter. When hooking up the trailer I am not out of breath. I have to crawl under my buggy to untie it from the trailer. There is now room between my…

I have an old 76 GMC pickup truck, and the way the seat belt is configured, it takes two hands to put it on. The one end of the seat belt is not stiff like it should be to allow a person to push the other in with just one hand. Well being clear over there on my right side with my big gut in the way, it used to be just about impossible for me to put my seat belt on in that truck. I never used that as an excuse not to wear it, and always would sit there fighting it and getting all out of breath tr…

I'm new.. thinking about the surgery seriously... a Lapbander x 4 years and obviously very unhappy with the results...
My husband completely supports me.. we have a friend who had the RNY with amazing results so far.. but herein lies the question...besides my husband, and my closest sibling and his wife.. I haven't told anyone about my desire for this surgery only because I don't want or feel that I need to explain to folks who I fear will suggest that even after years of different diets, and th…

Ok, I am pretty sure I know what everyone is talking about this "agent orange" thing...BUT...my questions is what causes that?? If I am correct about what it is, I have had it a few times BADLY, but I have not eaten anything greasy or fried/fatty and it has happened. I am 3.5 weeks out of surgery and it has been happening pretty much since my second week when I was eating only chicken broth and saltines! It is kinda funny because this is like what happened when I took ALLI for a few days and I h…

Well, for the past couple weeks I have been stuck at 298-299 and not budging at all. But finally this morning I was 296. So hopefully that stall is broken and I will start losing again. So my total weight loss since before surgery is 34 pounds now, leaving me just 101 left to reach my goal weight.
You know what's weird? I had lost zero inches off my waist, hips and neck even though I lost 30 pounds. I kept measuring them expecting to see the inches going down, but no. Kept staying at 55 inch wa…
