Well it was my 1 year anniversary on 19th of May!! I was down 143lbs as of that date and am happy to say that as of today's day (02-July-09) I am down 150lbs!!! Who would have every imagined that this was even possible. Not me, that's for sure. Since I haven't posted anything in a while this will be a mishmash of stuff. First off, the MGB Retreat in Florida was awesome - met some great people and had a wonderful time. The clothing exchange was a lot of fun and I came home with some nice things. The bonfire was so much fun and the smores were delicious!!

Well I haven't added anything recently as I have been somewhat depressed, as I usually am, at this time of year.
Im tried and tried to stay upbeat and not get down but I seem to have no control over my emotions when it comes to Christmas even though it is my favourite time of year. Well I made it the 6 month mark. I have had some difficulties in the last few months including diarrhea, stomach pain being the worst. But I am feeling better, still have bouts with diarrhea butnot as frequently andI believe are related to foods I have eaten - believe it or not salad is the biggest culprit so I am careful about how much I eat - but I enjoy them so much!!!!
I have also developed an ulcer in the past few weeks and am now on medicaton which is similar to prilosec but better.

I saw my Dr. again this week due to some troubles with swelling in my right leg - I had been sent for a scan to rule out a blood clot and thankfully it was not a blood clot. It all stems from an injury I suffered about 30 years ago when I was working at a Shoppers Drug Mart in the pharmacy where I fell down some stairs and ended up in a cast. Anyhow, enough of that nonsense, it turns out that the valves in my lower leg do not work so the fluid justs stays there and stretches the skin and causes…

Well I had my 5 month check up on the 24th of October. I am down to 230 - 100lbs!!! I had some issues with diarrhea and my stomach. My Dr. did a serious of blood work and a stool culture to see if it was anything serious - but thank goodness it was not. But let me tell you, I had one sore butt from going to the bathroom so often. JUST THOUGHT I WOULD POST ABOUT MY FIRST FAMILY GATHERING IN MY NEW TOWNHOUSE THAT I MOVED INTO IN DECEMBER 2007. HAD MY 4 MONTH WEIGH IN ON WEDNESDAY AND AM NOW DOWN 87LBS. WOW!!!! MY BLOOD PRESSURE WAS 94/60 - THE LOWEST I CAN EVER REMEMBER. I AM SO HAPPY THAT I MADE THE DECISION TO HAVE THIS SURGERY. IT HAS CHANGED MY LIFE IN WAYS I NEVER THOUGHT POSSIBLE - MY WORKOUTS ARE MORE INTENSE AND I WORKOUT MORE OFTEN.

I have been going through my clothes and have had to get rid of tons of clothing that does not fit anymore. I took 4 green garbage bags and a big box to the Goodwill. My wardrobe now consists of 2 pairs of pants (Size 20 - Woohoo!!! - down from a 28!!!) and a few tops (some too big - bit I have to have something to wear) So getting dressed for work in the morning has become a challenge but I am up for this challenge LOL.

So I am now 3 months post-op. I am doing really well - I feel fabulous and am excercising like a crazy person - I do a dance class called Zumba which is a Latin based cardio program that is so much fun.
