Almost 2 Years Post-op

Well, in about 3 more weeks, it will be 2 years since my surgery. I started at 350 pounds, and so far have lost about 170 pounds. I weigh about 180 pounds, but tend to bounce around between 177 and 183. It seems to depend on the time of the month, I think. I'm very happy with the amount of weight I've lost, and I couldn't be happier with the change in my health and the improvement in the quality of my life. I feel soooooo much better, and better about myself, as well. However, I really do wish… Continue

One Year!!!

March 29, 2008 was the one year anniversary of my MGB surgery. I've lost about 140 pounds. I'm feeling great, and am very happy with the results I've had. I went from a shirt size of 5x, almost a 6x, to now being able to wear a 18/20, and sometimes even a 14/16. I'm wearing a size 16 in pants, where before I was wearing a size 4x. Thanks to my MBG buddies, (littermates), I haven't had to buy hardly any clothing at all, since they've passed on to me their "hand-me-downs"... I guess there was a be… Continue

Reached 100 lbs. Goal!! 10-11-07

I reached my goal of losing 100 lbs. Actually, today when I weighed, I had lost 100.9 lbs. I'm very happy about this. I could never, never, have done this before, without the MGB. Now, just 100 more to go. Continue

6th Month September 29, 2007

Today is the 6th month since my surgery. I lost 11.7 lbs. this month, bringing my total loss to 96.2 lbs.. I was hoping to possbly make the 100 pounds lost mark, but I am so happy with what I've lost so far, it doesn't really matter. I know it will only be a matter of time until I make that goal. Yeah! Life is good...Actually, it is so much better!

August 29, 2007

Today is my 5th month since my surgery, and I lost 9.7 lbs. this last month. This is the least amount that I've lost so far. I was chatting with one of my littermates, and she had a lower loss than usual, also. I wonder if this is the way it's going to be from now on. However, I would love to see a loss of 15.5 lbs. by my 6th month, which would give me total of 100 lbs. gone. So, this is my goal...To lose 16 lbs. in this next month. It may not be realistic, but I'm going to try anyway. Let me ju… Continue

July 29th 4 Months Post-Op

Yesterday I weighed, after waiting for 10 days, and I lost 6.8 lbs, which brings my total to 75 lbs. in 4 months. My friend, Christine, did very well, also! We're both right on target, (a little above average) for our weight loss. (I'll let Christine share her info.) She is looking very good! I can't wait until she updates her NING. Continue

Waiting for the 29th of July

The 29th of July I will be 4 months post-op. My littermate, Christine, and I made a promise to eachother on the 19th, not to weigh ourselves until our 4 month anniversary, 10 days later. We were both pretty caught up on what the scale was telling us. I'm excited to see what happens. Since my surgery, I've weighed almost every day, so this is quite a gap in time for me. I look forward to what the outcome will be for both of us.

7/10/07 Being "Stuck" and Soft Skin

There were a couple of conversations on the MGB board recently about weight loss or being stuck and about our skin. In regards to being stuck, or the scale not moving, I was up and down within the same 2 pounds for about 2 weeks. Yes, I was getting frustrated. On July 8th, I finally saw movement again. This morning I weighed, and I've lost 63.7 lbs. I know we're not supposed to rely on the scale to be what decides if we are having success, or not, but I just

3 Months and 2 Days

It took me just a little longer than the 3 months to make my 60 lb. goal. I weighed this morning, and I had lost 60 lbs, exactly. I'm still feeling good...No problems.

Happy Independance Day to everyone, and God bless our troops.

Almost 3 months

On the 29th, I will be 3 months out since surgery. My goal is to have lost 60 pounds by then. I'm very close, but you know how the scale likes to mess with our heads...Down one day, up the next, no change the next day, etc.. So, in the meantime, I'm waiting patiently (Ya, right!). Continue

I had MGB surgery

I had my surgery on March 29, 2007. So far I've lost 54 pounds, in about 2 1/2 months. I really can't complain...I know I've had my bumps in the road, but I've read about others who've had much more difficulty than I. The one area that I have really struggled is with my hormones / estrogen levels. I am the poster child for the estrogen patch. The patch is my friend...And my husbands and childrens friend, as well. I was thinking about getting a tatoo on my arm that says, "CLIMARA", with a big
