Mini-Gastric Bypass

Las Vegas, Nevada & Orlando Florida, Get The Mini-Gastric Bypass for Life!!

Well,

I think I have hit my first major plateau. In the last two weeks I have lost one pound, and I don't feel like I am losing at all. Last week I was hungry all week, this week I take a couple of bites and am done??? So weird how this works sometimes. I wish I had some of the intolerances to food that I read about in others. So far I can eat just about everything (smaller amounts) that I did before. The only thing I have to avoid like the plague is greasy things and salad. I get sick to my stomach right away then the next day am glued to the toilet for a while. Some things are too sweet but I can tolerate them. I still don't have the overwhelming urges to eat huge portions, but I still fight wanting to eat when I am not hungry.

I think it is time to kick in some real exercise. Something regular. I waited because I was so heavy to start out with and have feet problems that I had to get out from under the weight before I got too physical. I can ride my bike now though. So cool. I ride it to the park and back with my boys, then I ride a couple times a week a couple of miles. I am working up to more, but even that makes my foot hurt. I think I am going to have to wrap it.

What is with salad? I am still having a hard time eating a salad. The lettuce just makes me uncomfortable. Does anyone one else have this problem this far out? I am seven months out and have lost a total of 116lbs. NOT complaining mind you, just curious. I was very large to start out with so 116lbs is a drop in the bucket, I don't want to be slowing down just yet. I am at 280 right now. So any plateau experiences to share anyone? I know it is part of the process, but after years of trying and failing to lose weight I almost feel like it is my fault that I have slowed down the last couple of weeks.

The name of the game is EA Active. It is really cool, because it has a personal trainer and will set up a schedule for you or you can create your own routine, with dance, boxing, track, skating, and sports. I was really sore the first time I used it.

Hey Rainy, what's the name of the Wii game you got with the resistance band? I've had a Wii fit since around Thanksgiving and have never used it! Can you believe that!?! I do cardio on my elliptical 30 min/day 5 days/week; but it doesn't give me a great advantage in the weight loss department (1.5 pound week average). I went two weeks staying the same and then I dropped a whopping 2 pounds LOL. So it's all relative to everyone's bodies even after surgery. But I'd really like to start some resistance training that that game sounds fun. =)

You know, I have no idea what moves the weight and what makes it stay where it is. I just try to watch my carbs. I remember Dr. R telling us that this surgery puts us in the same position a normally "skinny" people. So I keep that in mind as I struggle with my bad eating habits that are mostly in my head.

Thanks all for the tips and encouragment. I am going to work on more lean protein, vegi's, and fruit. I understand about the boob thing too. My husband makes comments about them going away, I just tell him I never used them anyways so it doesn't bother me as much as it does him! LOL! I got this exercise program for the wii. WOW it is cool. Running track (you run in place) squats (can't do those yet kills my knees) Roller blading and jumping ( really hard because you have to squat do do the jumps) and strength training with an elastic resistance band. I love it.

Rose,
My boobs are about gone also, but it is not so sad (-;

I would like to add, make sure you are getting the protein. It appears that was what was slowing my initial progress, though I really have not hit a plateau yet. Since I started to get 40 or so grams every morning in a shake, it seems to help.

HI Rainy,
I wouldn't say that you are on a plateau for a 2 week stall. Maybe after 4 weeks or so then you can say a it LOL...I found that I would stay the same for 2 weeks then drop 5 lbs. Especially after my cycle...I had the same problem with salads also but now I can eat as much as I want they go down very easy and make it feel like I am really eating something LOL....I guess they get crushed up pretty good so it seems like you are eating alot of food...I can eat a whole Wendy's mandarin chicken salad now...but the taco one is a little more dense and I can't quit finish it...
Ice cream, pie are the things that make me queezy. I have been hangin at 165 for over a month but I like this weight...afraid I am soon going to look like a concentration camp refugee if I lose anymore... my boobs are totally gone they really look sad...LOL

Hi Rainy, I can totally relate to you right now. I am just over 7 months out and I have lost 122 Lbs. I am sitting at 200 Lbs right now and I have been in a plateau as well for a couple of weeks I havent lost even a pound. After my MGB I couldnt eat lettuce just made me sick, yet recently I have been able to eat it again. I been working out regularly but cant lose weight. Some days I eat lots (smaller portions) and other days like you I cant eat much at all. I am struggling to get my water into me on a daily basis. I try to eat every 2-3 hrs like its recommended for us to do so. Its not your fault you have slowed down. It happens to many post MGB'ers, just read through some of the blogs on here you will see it is more common then you may think. Have you tried the 5 day pouch test? I have yet to try it but been thinking about trying it to see if it breaks my plateau in weight loss.

Ice cream & beef are the two major food issues I have, which doesnt really bother me that I cant have them. Well I can eat them but very sick afterwards so its not really worth it for me. Dont give up the scale will begin to move again you will see. :)
