Mini-Gastric Bypass

Las Vegas, Nevada & Orlando Florida, Get The Mini-Gastric Bypass for Life!!

Hi everyone,

Starting out at such a heavy size I really didn't give myself a set weight goal. I mean it is not like I don't want to get to a certain size, I have thought about what it would be like to weigh 150lbs. I don't even remember being that weight ever. In 10th grade I weighed 190lbs, and I thought I wasn't so bad then. So I do hope to get below 200lbs, but I don't keep an exact number in mind. As of today which is about 7 1/2 months from surgery I have lost 126lbs! That is no sneeze in the bucket! I have four and a half months to go in my first year and I hope to have lost at least another 30lbs by then. That will put me over the average mark. But then again I started out so heavy too. Even though it is summer, I know winter will be here before I know it and then I am kind of stuck in doors more. I am going to have my gissele up and running by then though. I love that thing. So easy on the body, yet you can do upper and lower work outs.

How do most of you guys decide what to make as a weight goal? Does most everyone have a set number in mind? I just don't want to set myself up for disappointment. I do put mini milestones out there though. I love to see the number changes. Like going from the 280's to the 270's. I am now right at 270lbs, and I can't wait to see that six!

My bike riding is catching on. My husband wants to get one now, and a bunch of kids I work with want to start regular bike rides! I can't wait. I just love riding that bike. I will have to have my hubby take a picture of me on the bike. I am sure it looks funny with the funky helmet but I like it. Well let me know about your goals big and small, I am interested to hear what others in this community use as goals.

Hey Rainy! I couldn't even imagine what I would end up at after my MGB... Dr. P asked me what I thought I should weigh and I said "I don't know.... around 175, maybe 180?" he said.... "Nah, I think you'll end up around 140. I started bawling like a babay right their in the office. My husband grabbed my hand. Dr. P asked if I was ok, and I couldn't speak. My husband told him, "she would never have even dared to dream of 140... it just seems so unreal"

He is right, it did seem unreal. It still does some days. But I started out at 265, now I weigh 178, I am closing in on my one year anniversary and it hasn't all come off in a steady way. I lost the first 70 in the first 4.5 months, the rest over the last 7 months.... a bit frustrating at times, but it is what it is.

I still don't know if I will get down to 140. I suspect for me that 160 would be a better fit. That makes me about 18 lbs away from my goal weight. Hey, if I lose the extra 20 after that, then I'll take it, but 18 more and I am good.... no stress. They tell us two years is the timeframe and to be aptient during that time. We also have to think about the 10% rebound weight that some people experience. The most important thing is the regained health, being active in our lives, and feeling better about ourselves.... the number, well it IS just a number, but I know I get hung up on it too much. I am grateful for where I am, and look forward to seeing where it leads. But for now... my goal is another 18 lbs. After that, we'll see. Maybe I will be at 140, who knows? :D cheers!

Thank you Ann. I am surprised by how well my skin is retracting. My arms are not so good, but I can wear shorter shirts now then before. If I wear a long shirt like I used to I look ridiculous as I am only 5' 3" tall. Everything else is just going flat. ;)

I have a goal of 170 - why? Not so sure, but I remember when I weighted in at about 130 - 5th grade and looking back I think I looked "right". I don't think I could ever be that weight again because of a few more inches and some more muscle, (along with the extra skin that probably won't come off without surgery) so I thougth maybe 170 would be good. Then there is the weight I "should" be - I once found a calculation of what you should weigh based on height, muscle mass and bone mass and that calculated to be 155. I would be very happy to say 170, and to be able to keep it at that weight and not gain anything back.

I have lost 120 lbs in 11 months (exactly 11 months today) and weigh 210 - I have 40 lbs to go and I am exercising to help with tonning, stamina and skin. My skin is doing some recovery, no sagging that wasn't there before - aka bat wings. But I am blessed with a thick hide - meaning lots of connective tissue that is helping with the no sag thing.

Keep it up Rainy - I have followed your journey with much interest as I think we are a lot alike. We can make it to our goals - slow and steady wins the race.
