So this is probably going to sound a bit wierd... but I was mad at my spaghetti last night. I made some of my world famous (ok it's famous in my house anyways) home made spaghetti sauce... I had a real craving for something spicy, tomatoey, and oniony, so that means sauce. I made vermicelli noodles and we had some salad and garlic bread. I am not a bread fan these days (sits too heavy) so I bypassed the bread, I had a little bit of salad, about 1/2 a cup loosely packed, and about 1 cup of cooked…

Today was my one month post op appointment with my PCP. When he called my into the examination room he gave me my hug and kiss on the cheek as always and asked me "how is the bravest girl I know doing today?" LOL I chuckled a bit and told him I never felt better. He took my bp and heart rate, checked my weight, measured my waist, and asked to see my diabetes log book. We went over all of the information and talked about where I thought I stood health wise right now, and where I hoped to be at 6…

my blood pressure still remains completely wonderful since surgery, and I am happy to say that my diabetes numbers are starting to come down as well.
even though the scale is still stuck at 240 and has been for over a week, the numbers make me happy. I am going to see my Dr. on Monday for my one month check up. (it is one month to the day actually) and I will check my weight on his scale too. If nothing changes over the weekend, I will be down 25 lbs and 4 inches in my waist. No more high blood…

The last few days have been interesting gastrointestinally speaking. I have had some nausea and have been feeling very close to tossing my cookies.... especially when my husband decided to desribe his incident with maggots and a dead rat carcass in the front yard. (ughhh, men!) I am usually not so weak stomached when it comes to stuff like that. I am the one that cleans up the kids stuff when they are sick or have missed the toilet in any given venture, so the weak tummy is a bit strange. I am f…

Today is a funny kind of day. I am sitting here with sore gums (just got back from a dental cleaning, YIKES!), and thinking about so many of my MGB friends and wondering how they are doing.
I am thinking especially about Cathy today. She had her MGB this morning and should be sipping and salting her way around the hospital. She is such a dear heart and is probably schooling those nurses on how to use the word *eh* in a sentence.... like *excuse me, but could you bring me some more ice? I like m…

I WILL BE AT THE MEETING ON SATURDAY - LOOKING FORWARD TO MEETING MY FELLOW MGB'ERS!! SEE YOU THERE.
Well, so far so good. I have had lots of 'rumbling' and crazy noises and feelings, and I'm still trying to sort it all out. I can tell you for sure, I am sick of Gatorade! But I know it's good for me so I sip it all day. I have a hard time finding things I want to eat. But today I went to lunch with some folks from work (who don't know I had surgery). We went to a sushi place, and I had miso soup, and about 6 pieces of raw fish. It was great! I had no trouble and nobody suspected a thing. I have tried little pices of roasted chicken, which tastes great but really hurts when it hits the stomach. I guess 13 days out I should be slurping porridge or something, but I really want to try real food. Anyhow, I'm down exactly 20 pounds today! Woo hoo! Lisa is down 23! So I guess its working! And yes, we have started our 'exercise' routine, and I'm happy to report that nothing critical was damaged during the surgery!
Tina
